Suspension springs, 3200 AC 'Racing Trim'?

I've posted this topic before, that my 02 Cambiocorsa tends to wallow a bit. Being an 02 car, from the factory it was fitted with 3200 Assetto Corsa springs. The later cars including the Gransport all had the same springs, but different to the 02springs, that I have been recommended to change too.
However looking on Eurospares, there appears to be an option for 'racing trim' springs for the Assetto Corsa, that would of course (I assume) also fit the 4200/GS...

FRONT 057/003 -Optional - Racing trim-£40.59
REAR Part No. 183776-Optional - Racing trim-£42.83

They are not expensive, and available, but I would really like to know the specification.

It would be great if we had a spec for the four spring options:

3200 AC/02 4200
3200 AC Racing trim
03-05 4200/GS
FD Dynamics

Just thinking the 3200 AC Racing trim springs might be an economical 'unknown' option maybe?

Cheers,
Mike

Mike, do you know how much the FD springs are?

At £200 a set I would be inclined to stick to the AC setup.

Do check the part no 's of what you already have on your car Mike, its my understanding that the Assetto corsa suspension is one and the same for the 4200

Loz, I thought that too.

I think what Mike is saying as he was an early 02 model he got the standard 3200 springs, Mike, worth checking first.

What you can do Mike is have your 4200 set up to GS specs, thats what I would do.

Main dealers and Indies charge about £200-£250 to do this.

The earliest 4200's to my knowledge were spiders Matt , they were produced alongside the last of the 3200 's whether assetto or not , the vast majority of which were fitted with skyhook , sort of underpins my thinking that all the suspensions from 02 cars onwards ... are one and the same ........ thats not to say there isn't a rogue car out there with some parts bins stuff on it but i'd be very surprised and may well eat someones hat if im wrong here

The first 02 4200 list the springs part numbers the same as the last 3200 AC cars according to Eurospares.
The 03 04 05 and GS then all have the same springs but a different part numbers from the 02 4200/3200 AS
So the first run of 4200 for model year 02 have the same springs as the last 3200 AS.
Yes I know how much the FD springs are, hence looking at options to move to the later 4200/GS springs as an alternative improvement.
Would like to know about these 3200 'racing trim' springs though!
Cheers
Mike

Another solution to the ride would be to get the car lowered and geo re-set for the new configuration.

Guys

The early 4200s were fitted with standard 3200 springs and not the AC variant. The AC spec components are listed by the factory and therefore Eurospares under "Racing Option"

hope this helps

I need a new front spring (MOT revealed fracture)for my 3200 GT Assetto corsa - Do I order Part No. 386600336 from eurospares? Listed as item 3 on page 47

Really want to retain any AC characteristics - but same part is quoted for both 3200 and 4200.

Also listed as Item 3 on page 57

Maserati 3200 Assetto Corsa - FRONT SUSPENSION SPRING Part No. 183775 -Optional - Racing trim-
NEW To Order £40.59 Each

What the h3ll is this? Not shown in the picture either

Call Euorspares with your chassis number, they will sort you out.

Springs should be changed in pairs across the axle involved as over time they loose they shape. The 3 types will be for AC, 3200, and skyhook models at a guess.

If you examinie the graphic, you will see that the standard and the racing trim option are both shown as item 3. There are 2 links for item 3 on the nav side bar on Eurospares site and as you hover over each, the full part description is shown beneath the graphic - 1 standard and 1 optional racing trim.

hope this helps

Not really!

I know there are two items listed as 003

First one costs £186 - showing picture of a coil spring
second one costs £40.96 - no picture - describes as Optional Racing trim. Can this cheaper item really be the AC specific spring?
