Hi Everyone,
I am a Brit living in Geneva and my 2006 QP is heading northbound to Shiltech for some TLC during the last week of April. She's done 75k miles and is still going strong. You should count yourselves lucky that the uk has so many indy Maser specialist because its main FM dealers here only and believe me you don't want to know Swiss labour rates (if you consider minimum wage here is more than 20 pounds per/hr you get the idea). So even with the tolls and fuel the work will be much less than here.
In the past 12 months i had to have the variators (ouch!) and alternator replaced in addition to winter boots and the annual service. Clutch is fine. I want Geoff to do a major service and do any work required on the suspension (bushes, check the alignment, shocks, etc.), brakes and 4 x new pzeros. Basically i am trying to do my best to ensure another 12 months of avoiding major components going. I think i have a bearing on the way out. I will report back on the diagnosis and service but i've heard great things about Shiltech and Geoff has been super responsive so far.
Cant wait for the journey up over the Jura to Dijon and then blasting up through France. No doubt some strange looks on the UK roads when a CH plated left hook QP fires up. Here's hoping its trouble free!
Happy Easter to all.
Cheers
Tim
