only a little while to go I think, but a 355 spider in the right colour scheme (according to me) with "wear and tear" only, $20200 at the moment.

My membership has lapsed but methinks I might renew!

Am I missing the bleedin' obvious in the words of Meester Fawlty???

There seem to be some prime pickings over there of the relatively undamaged variety, look at the E-type jag (XKE in Septic speak).

Could be worth a trip over at short notice i fear Paco , couldn't spend that kind of money blind , i recently had confirmed prices for shipping back to UK , not as much as i first thought , transport from Texas fully containerised shipment or 2 cars fully insured to southampton about $1100 plus $200 insurance each includes all disembursements to port of destination , just duty and vat to pay this end , which is what i have been trying to clarify this end , easy on a straight car , but when you buy a non runner.salvage its a grey area

Thats seems quite reasonable for shipping Loz..............The car above is a runner and not damaged so why not go over a do the mother of all road trikps and drive it to the port..Now that would be an experience....

Rate quote#10041005

Your Maserati from your door in Dallas via our terminal in Houston in a shared 40' container up to port Felixstowe

$375 – trucking Dallas to Houston

$1195 – ocean freight Houston to Felixstowe

As alternative RO-RO service:

$995 – ocean freight Houston to Southampton

INCLUDED:
- Trucking by flatbed truck
- Receiving, loading, block & brace at terminal
- US Customs clearance and export documentation
- Container drayage and U.S. port fees
- Ocean freight from U.S. port up to destination port
- Bill of Lading and courier fees

I thought them quite reasonable too Andy , last time i enquired it was quite a bit more , seems like the recession has reduced prices somewhat, re driving in the US, i did a road trip when the kids were young had a car for one week and a winebago for two weeks ended up with 3 speeding tickets , limit then was 55mph so easily broken , there roads were so wide 55 seemed like 30 mph , too easily broken, i'd be quite happy to see it boxed up in a container , and then do some game fishing before coming home

Yes would imagine it's hard to keep to there limit.....A friend has just moved to Texas and he was saying the same....

I would have thought shipping was around 3/4lk so very reasonable.

He drove a beaten up old golf GTI....So no to your question......Saying that he did come on a few runs with me when I had the Lotus and does llike cars.......I do believe he is an engineer of some sorts by trade. Not sure if he's the man to look at a Maserati...although he does know his way around a car and engine. Where is the car Loz....if close I will ask him the question.

I thought Grand Prairie might be in the middle of nowhere, but actually it's bang in between Dallas and Fort Worth!
