Morning, all...work from work. Still not recovered energy levels. Looking at the QP V later. And date night...there's a joint here that does a 96 oz tomahawk ribeye special on Tuesdays...
Enjoy that, Dennis. I had a cracking tomahawk a couple of weeks back, shared between three. Delicious!

Morning, all.

Morning, all. Thanks, Adam...was really good, and half price for Tomahawk Tuesday! Doggos enjoying the bone, as well. Work from work...evening zoom I think. Otherwise status quo...hope all are well, and happy humpage.

Good morning all.

Had a lie in this morning as was at the hospital with Dad as he had an anomaly in a blood test. He has had prostate cancer for years and now his kidney has gone from 80% effective to 20% so they phoned for us to take him in ASAP. He seems ok and is going through tests but the joys of the Welsh NHS was that we got there at 18:00 and finally saw a doctor at 02:00. Not the hospitals fault but the Welsh minister drippy Drakeford not spending money on the right areas. The money that the Welsh NHS budget is short of this year he spent on 20mph signs in Wales….Cock…Anyway let’s see what today brings.

Morning all

WFH today with lots of admin and calls to catch up on.

Last night was tax return deadline, can never understand the self assessment process and they have now started asking me for an advance payment when in essence my only taxable income is PAYE so they get it monthly  anyway, I made the payment but will try to speak to someone today. On the plus side my wife got a rebate as I spotted a mistake on her 21/22 return  and they backdated the correction.:D

Morning all. In office already. Another bang up day ahead I am sure. Hope good news for your dad, Andy. There are some benefits to being an orphan...i save a lot on greeting cards, for example.

Mine were done and paid last week, including the first payment in advance on the current tax year. Now it's straight onto VAT returns. This is endless!

I am forced to ask.....if you find it so hard, why leave it to the last instant?
My return is very simple as I am PAYE and anything else taxable is in my wife’s name - I did the return last week but have spent we week trying to work out why that want money in advance given I may tax monthly - makes no sense to me.

As for paying the money - I was not paying it a day earlier than required ;)

But you can do the return in May and spend 6 months telling them to stuff the payments in advance (I get the same thing) then *pay* this week (I did it a little earlier as I don't trust their site not to crash)

Morning everyone and thankfully we're closer to the weekend.
Yesterday turned out bad as my son rang me telling me the industrial unit he keeps his toys in had been robbed.
All caught on CCTV and quite obvious Eastern Europeans.
Had it happen to myself about 20 years ago so I feel his pain.
On a plus had 3 electricians here yesterday.
Have a Good day all.

Morning all, sorry to hear about that Phil, thieving scrotums! A tough drive up to Buxton last evening as M1 was wrecked from Luton to MK! Anyway we will be taking her for a walk on the hills in a bit and later a joint birthday meal with Alex (my middle lad) who is 28 today!

Have fun all…
