Just fitted HID lights to my MK1 Golf, completely reversable to the factory units if the MOT becomes picky. So much better than the old ones (25 year old tech) and took just fourty mins to fit.

Amazing Peter, costs for the kit?

Also how do you get round the self levelling and is it law to have washers too???

Now I must get off my @rse and fit that bath!

CE states you must have self levelling and washers to sell the car with them in the EU. At the moment the MOT does not stop you doing this as long as the lights do not dazzle others; however this is due to change...sometime? The old lights were so dull I think this adds to the safe use of the car.

I will be taking it to Phils garage to check the alignment as I also fitted new driving lights and a OSF headlight due to holes caused by stones a few weeks back.

The kit I have is plug and play; no cutting, splicing and to avoid drilling I used hook and loop Velcro to stick the ballast onto the inner wings.

H4-H/L kit was £45.00 on E-bay

Morning boys and girls, off out on a 35 miler cycle ride in a bit, question is, road bike or 29'er mountain bike????

The road bike is faster but not good in the wet due to the pencil width slick tyres.

More bath fitting in the afternoon yeah!!!!

Morning all.

May have found a flat in London close to Tower Bridge; so close to Pont de la Tour and Shad Thames for eating out. Can't believe it will cost me more than the 3 bed house in Bristol and the living/eating/cooking area is smaller than my bath room! with the bed room being only just larger than a double bed...so no king size relax for me in the week.

Still it beats hotels I guess?

Just about to pop out and oil all the catches on the Spyder hood, one of the rear locks is not always releasing a gentle tap frees it so a bit of lubrication should help.

Morning / Afternoon All,
Have been missing for a bit due to a bug in my wifi network, losst all the IP & DNS addresses for some reason and could not get them back. I seem to have resolved that for the minute, so here I am..!!
Grey day here and a bit damp, was going to work outside but have changed my mind and will do some catch up and then watch the F1-GP. Had the new kitten spayed a few days ago and she bust her stitches the mad thing, so have had to get some wound strips and bandage, back to vets Monday I think, shucks..!!
Anyway whatever you are all doing, have a good one, stay safe and if you can, go fast..!!
Cheers

Back from karting in Loughborough, with daughter and her boyfriend. Cracking time, particularly as I came top of the lap times, and the kids came in the middle. Not too surprising, as the other participants were either missing my many years of driving experience, or were enjoying the fruits of eating too many pies. Enjoyable way to spend a Sunday lunchtime though :)
