i get told that aswel....but taking it to nottingham would have cost £95 return trip where i done it in a diesel for £30 return....

I'll be driving mine up to the Lakes for the New Year. Yes the petrol price is shocking, but not shocking enough to stop me smiling every time I fire up a 400bhp engine. :)

Winter or summer tyres?

Any joy on the discs/pads investigation? Will impact on how long I keep my 4200GT as it will need new brakes somewhere late 2011/late2012. Current prices are c£1400 all in at an independent or nearer £2000 at a Maserati dealer. Its a lot of dosh with most 4200GT's only worth £10-15k in the trade.

Maser Sod are you still interested in the Nissan GTR?

Yes, but can't make up my mind. I've got 30K from the sale of the GranSport plus probably another 30-40K to add on top after April. I'm working abroad 4 days a week until then, so no rush to decide as the thing won't get used too much. However, may get an RX-7 in the interim to scratch the itch temporarily. Punchy cars for the money: 5K gets you a half-decent one and they are a lot quicker than an RX-8. Not everyone's cup of tea though. There's an import specialist over the bridge from me so may have a nose around next week.

RX7, not my cup of tea but supposed to be a good car, Nissan GTR's are becoming great value at the moment, you cant get a real nice on for about 45-50k.

That's exactly the one I'm thinking about. The exhaust will be disposed of sharpish, I'll take it down to Prospeed in Cardiff so that they can replace it with a quietish quad set-up.

GT S...911 GT3 RS (just) or standard GT3.....There are loads to chose from..

Yeah, lots to choose from but I'm also terrified about the fact that I've racked up 9 points in 18 months. Managed to get 3 scrubbed due to bad paperwork, but it's not a good habit to be in. First purchase in the New Year sales will be a Road Angel Professional.
