This forum has one of the smoothest interfaces I've seen- well up to the marque. So congrats to the webmaster.

Does the board software support a "Last 20 messages" function?

On other (lesser) boards I find this a useful landing page.

Thanks Ian, your comments are truly appreciated. This forum came about very quickly so its work in progress, plus its good to evolve it on the fly, it keeps member interest.

We will indeed be having a new home page, which will show latest news articles plus a list of upcoming events in date order, and the latest forum activity.

For now, use the What's New? tab at the top, it does much the same thing for now, showing what you have not read to date or that has changed since your last visit.

Hi ianA, yes there is a "New posts" button you can click on just below the "Forum" button, will bring up chronologically the latest posts from all sections.......do enjoy!

Apologies for being a lazy wotsit and not seeking those out.

I will try out the "What's New" url first as my landing page- not sure I'll be able to get here every day.

Am I right in thinking the what news doesnt show threads started by yourself?

cant see mine eg.

shouldnt it show replies to those at least?

is there a glitch or have I failed to grasp the simple?

GTS08, I will let Conaero answer this question, as I've also raised a query about the "new posts" button only bringing up a selection of the newest posts and some of those not actually the newest!

The 'What's New' tab is cookie/history based. What that means is that it only lists the post that have changed (bold) or are new (bold) that you have not clicked on. Its kinda so you dont miss anything, so threads you have started, you have visited, so arnt bold and thus dont appear.

The 'New posts' works in much the same manor.

can I make a suggestion?

what about a link at the bottom - where those on line apear - to the latest post?

so we can see immediately who posted and go stright there - like the "other place" had.
