Just to get us started. It shows loads of 4.2 GTs registered in 2008 (now dried up as a model from a sales perspective FWIW) but relatively few GTS and GTS Autos sold since they came out in late 2008 and early 2009 resp. - hence the lack of supply of used GTs with a 4.7 engine.

Oh dear that site could provide a fair few minutes of geeky petrolhead browsing!

Useful tool for any statisticians out there....... top find!

....... and yes I have just punched in most of my early cars to see how many might be running around.

Fairly big sales .?!...in UK 2500 plus GTs in 2009..........can't be right...total Maserati worldwide sales only around 9000......or can someone explain it to me!

The way I read the stats are:

2007 GT 170
2008 GT 410, GTS 59
2009 GT 58, GTS 115, GTS Auto 76
2010 GT 27, GTS 106, GTS Auto 81

If these numbers are right it tells us that the pool of 4.2 GTs is big and they will probably take a bath at some stage. The GTS and GTS Auto are around in much smaller numbers as they were launched later on after the economy went down.

Someone can do the same for the various QP models if they like?

So fifteen dealers or so.......2008.....470 cars sold...... divided by that number = 31 cars each.....lets assume the 5/6 smaller ones only sold 15-20 pa ......larger 40-60 pa....not a lot really ( wonder what they did with QP sales?).......and then the halving of sales in 2009....and worse in 2010....not great......

Guys, those are the number of registered cars. Each year cars are sold overseas/written off/stolen so the numbers already registered decrease, must say they do sound pretty low.

I didn't realise the numbers on the GT-S were so low - does this mean there are only 280 GT-S's MC-Shifts in the country?

Hopefully that means that my GT-S, which when I purchased it was the cheapest in the UK, won't go the same way as the 4.2's and hold onto it's value a bit better. Not good for you guys wanting them to become cheap...but good for me lol!

Cant believe so little was sold in 2010. Be interesting to see which dealer sold the most Maserati's.

No wonder I got an email from the dealer that supplied my car when it was new asking me for a coffee and a chat!

Thing is, I didn't buy the car from them - my local dealer updated the records at Maserati to show me as the current owner but surely Maranello (who supplied the car new) should be able to tell that I'm not the person that they personally sold it to!

Only 27 4.2 Granturismo's came to the UK in 2010?? that is extremely low, only selling 1 every 2 weeks.

Why would you buy a new 4.2 now - if you can afford a new 4.2 then you sure as he!l can afford a 4.7!

Can anyone decipher this? There is no 4200 spyder listed but there seems to be a lot of 'spyders' including spyder E's. What is a spyder E? How many 4200 spyders do we think are on the road? It would be nice to know if I am going to see another coming the other way!

I can see only 10 AC in auto......wow.......i read that right, right??

No, 20 auto and 27 manual (18 + 2 SORN, and 23 + 4 SORN). Would exclude any ACs that DVLA only have recorded as a 3200.

It's quite an addictive site, but only a guide and is subject to DVLA accuracy, which we all know is poor! As an example, if you look at the total number of AC manuals in 2010, there were 26 in Jan-March but 29 in July-Sept.

Would also exclude any ACs that DVLA only have recorded as a 3200. The maximum ACs they have ever had listed was in 2003, which was a total of 56, so there are presumably quite a few additional that are wrongly categorised.

It's all intriguing and makes the second hand Market a bit of a minefield too.

Limited supply but possibly limited buyers too, at this time.

Flipside as always..... Looking to move on my Porsche 996 C4S and Market is saturated.....

Why do I 'invest' (ahem) in cars?

From what these figures say it's wholly unreliable which is a great shame as otherwise it would have been superb. I've had 3 Gransport Coupes. All three have had Gransport Spyder SA on the v5. They sold nowhere near as many Gransports. Roughly 400 in total as far as I've heard previously. This site says 140 in 2010???
