OK, so it's good news and bad news on my GTS front....

Good news: The parking sensors have started to work again after a 3 month lay off! Hooooooraaaayyy!

Bad news: We have a new fault. When I open the drivers door the window drops the 2cm or so that it is supposed to, but then it goes back up a few second later, the interior light does not come one, and the seat tip does not make it motor forward like it used to. BUT, it cannot be a fuse because every once in a while it all works perfectly. I was thinking that perhaps it has something to do with a door switch (i.e. the window goes back up because it is not seeing the door as open) but I cannot for the life of me find a door switch anywhere around the aperture or on the door itself.

Anybody got a clue what's going on? Or shall I just wait 3 months and assume it will resume normal service like the park sensors have! :excellent:

On the 4200, the micro switch is on the back of the handle. However, to get at it you have to remove the door card, inner membrane, remove the glass, dismantle the handle and lock, unbolt the handle and ease it out of the door. Now, I could probably do it in about an hour having done it a few times during the strip-down and rebuild, but the first time you are probably looking at double that and about an hour and a half to put it all back. It's a thoroughbred pita.

Try a window reset. Wind it down and hold down the switch for 10 seconds. Then wind it up and hold down the switch for 10 seconds.

If that doesn't fix it, worth trying a battery reset.

I would remove the door card & check the connector to the door lock, with the powered locks it may just need unplugging & replugging, works wonders for oxidised connections,
Cheers
