Tend to agree, in the (almost) 5 yeas I have had mine, its been a pleasure and been pretty faultless (kiss of death). As said they were probably released with a few too many faults and then relied (in the main) on a dealer network that may have been more interested / experienced with another manufacturer.
I suspect most that are still on the road should provide good value be it the apparently "scary" well used or lower / end of the market right through to the top condition garage queens, which in some ways can be just as much of a reliability risk in my eyes.
I would also agree that certain supposed Maserati fans do not help, yes there are risks but do your research and go in with your eyes wide open and there is no reason why the 3200, or any Maserati should not give plenty of pleasure, on the other hand if you want a car that costs the same as a golf to run, drives like a golf etc etc - go buy a golf / BMW or what ever you want a car to perform like.
I liked the 3200 when it was released and I like it as much today, it may not be quite as refined or sorted as the 4200 and newer cars but I suspect it could be those very things that make it a bit more exciting to me. I do hope that values go up and reflect what a truely special car it is but I doubt it will make to much difference to me as on the whole, I dont sell my cars.
People should stop talking these cars down.
