Yes, this stuff does happen here. Typical scenario is being forced to hand over car at gun point at traffic lights or on entering ones drive. Not too often mind you, but a worry.

To my question: can anyone recommend either how to programme the existing immobilizer with a delay, or some third party product that would allow a secret button to be pressed after starting, or during incident, that would kill the engine after a few minutes?

PS. Navtrack and such services don't formally exist here. All I could do in that sense would be install a third part GPS tracker. I want the car NOT to be taken anywhere other than a few blocks. Not to find out which ditch it has been crashed in the next day..

Plenty of aftermarket devices, you really want a distance based one I suspect. You keep the card. When it goes out of range it all stops.

No personal recommendation though.
