Especially if you have just jet washed the car and there could be some dampness around. It’s not just Maserati, my Jaguar XJ has a tendency for the EPB to stick on if I wash the car and leave it on for a day or so.

Girlfriend borrowed mine, put it in P and decided to click the EPB. Had to be low loaded to dealership from the gym!
