Today's jobs - pollen filter and air con re-gas

I changed my GS pollen filter today, using an eBay jobby (Alfa Compatible). Its a fiddly job requiring wiper pullers etc. You really have to reach over to get the covers off etc. I got the old one out (yuk! they do their job) and you have to reuse the frame from the OEM filter. The one I chose (stupidly the cheapest! I had a recommendation but found the same one from same seller for less or so I thought - it wasn't the same) It was very flimsy and didn't fit 100%. It took some gaffer down the sides to hold in place. I'm off on holiday tomorrow so I will change at later stage for better fit/filter. My vacuum also wouldn't reach to bottom of filter compartment which had leaf matter drop off the old filter.

When I ran the blower after fitting I did get some organic matter blow out but this is to be expected given the circumstances. This has stopped now.

Off to Kwik Fit for a regas. I checked before hand and they had GS on the database (STS didn't). I showed them the filling ports and they just got on with it (guy was a mechanic/MOT Tester) (albeit had to call me as couldn't start the car due to not knowing about start button).

Icy cold air con now - happy days!

I bought some waterless wash today also from Halfords toss up between megs and a non premium brand. Both expensive. Got the cheaper one and regretted it (TBH I spend top money on detailing kit so not sure why i did that?) its like a white wax bomb going off - DONT DO IT!! all over trim etc complete nightmare.. Actually quick detailer is ok on a clean car as waterless wash (Thats what Megs is)

750g spot on - thats what the guy said he put in. He said he pulled out 350g so it had lost half of gas over time.
