Torque Settings

So, long story..

Car temp shot up alarm beeped, and I pulled over in a cloud of steam..

Seems the ******* pipe on back of engine has gone pop.. atleast I believe so, in middle of taking apart (so much plastic!)

Anyhoo for putting back together when hopefully I can reach and replace rubber hose (gonna replace with silicone one) I could do with a list of torque settings for items such as the intake manifold, Windscreen wiper motor and looking probably the injector rails.

Have done a thread search couldn’t see myself any help would be awesome.

Thanks then.

Keep turning until it creaks and then back it off a quarter turn. Don’t overdo it though or bad things happen. You’re welcome.

I had a similar issue last year and 'luckily" it was the pipe under the manifold that connects the heat exchanger to the overflow reservoir. It's just a 10 cm section of pipe but I replaced it with triple ply silicone. I still have some leftover if you need a bit.
As for torque, I just nipped them up to compress any spring washer then nipped no more than a quarter turn.

Thanks, wasn't sure, was gonna do that if there wasn't a specific setting.

So far I have enough off it isnt any of the coolant pipes I can see, only one left is the one on back.

On a side note injector electrical clips were fun pinged one of the clips into the depths of the engine bay, ended on the floor thank god.. Still only the Allen heads holding the manafold on to go.

Stop what you are doing and go down to screwfix and get one of these. Trust me, this was 'man of the match' when I pulled mine apart. £3, magnetic and has a light on the end. It'll save you swearing a lot.

Dropping things at work would imply I work..

managed to gain access to pipe.. ooh that’s tight.. but I can see the split so at least it ain’t apart for nothing.

tomorrow’s job tho...

Yes, the pipe of doom. £7 for a new one and a right sod to replace. You did well my friend. They seem to go around the 70k miles mark, what mileage did yours go at Ning?

96k mine has done, so not bad I suppose. Also replaced a pipe that feeds into heat exchanger as one of the clamps was loose, no idea what it does but while i was there n all.

Great work, looks a proper PITA job.
But surely blue is for cold water..........?

Yeah was a pain, I’ll assume if you went to Maserati to do they would take the gearbox off, which in all honesty would have been easier, but I have no access to anything like that.

Also blue was because I didn’t select any other colour cause lazy.
