I'm sure some of you will have a dim view of the sport but it is the single largest sports event in the world and a fantastic Spectacle.

We have at least five riders who will figure well up in the General Classification & a potential winner in Bradley Wiggins. I just pray it's a clean race.

You will be praying for a long time then! The drugs are there, they are just getting harder to find.

Well you have a point Ian but I have a mate who works for the UCI and the budget for research into dopining is huge! just a shame people can't just ride clean. Guys Like Cavendish & Wiggins run drug free for sure but as you say some will always chance it. Those idiots spoil it for everyone.

Take my hat off to the riders, one unbelievably hard test, can not believe they can ride 30mph when going uphill.

I've cycled most of the UK's official coast to coast's over the past 5 or so years and they all battered me to within an inch of me life, and these are nought compared to the T de F. It has to be the single most physically and mentally demanding challenge there is in sport. Hat's off to those that do it clean.

Are you referring to the Etape du Tour P? If yes, then good for them as it's a murderous ride.

I've done most of the passes but the hardest by a country mile is Mount Ventoux high winds blistering heat oh the sence of conquest once you have done it.

If this was part of an organised ride, then it could well have been the Etape. The tour organisers open up a mountain stage for one day to 'regular' cyclists a week before the tour itself comes through. There are a few thousand take part each year. This year's Etape is a week on Monday. Have two friends doing it.

Never done the Etape too many people for me just a couple of crazy mates when we have done it. One is taking part in the Euro Ironman this Sunday in Austria.
