TPMS sensor replacement

The car I’ve just bought needs a new TPMS sensor fitting due to a dead TPMS battery.
The previous owner has given me the part as he never got round to fitting it.
Can any tyre place do it, and then I calibrate from the car or does it require coding to the car with specialist kit?

car is 2013 facelift if that makes a difference.

I have done a forum search but can’t find the answer.

Thanks in advance o wise ones.

Not sure on a Mas, but normally no coding is required and just a reset of the tpms is sufficient.

It sort of depends. Is it an OEM one? From the long and tortuous threads on the other place the definitive answer is 'maybe'

Sorry to resurrect again - genuine sensor is now fitted but I need another.

My understanding is that all 4 wheels operate independently each with their own antenna in the wheel arch, therefore I can mix sensors across wheels.

This came in Maserati packaging, I assume I can fit the same part number Ferrari part to another wheel? Or even the Huf/Beru one?
part no 282189
Ferrari one is £103.44 delivered from Scuderia (to order)
Maser one is £123.61 delivered from Scuderia (in stock)

Huf RDE011 is £122.85 delivered from Alloywheelsdirect

Yes it should work fine. However I’d get an email from the supplier confirming it is compatible with your car, in case of any problems and you need a refund.

Can you please feedback to the forum whether you needed re-coding or just a TPMS reset - would be helpful for others. Thanks!

Yay - I have no error lights on the dash!

I ordered the Ferrari part & took it to be fitted at a local garage, they weren’t confident that their old tyre machine would get the tyre off the rim without damage so recommended I went to a big chain tyre place with better equipment.

I phoned and went down, having been told it would just be £12 for the wheel balancing, unless I wanted it coding to the car.

I just got it fitted knowing I had an Autel AP200 that arrived last week, waiting to be played with.

Once fitted, I recalibrated on the way home and the main dash light went away, I could now see the pressures, however the muppet had done 3.2bar instead of 32psi.

Sorted the pressures out at home, then finally worked out how to store the new values as being correct. (Obviously without reading the manual!)

@mowlas Summary - no coding required on my 2013 facelift car.

The bonus was the guys at F1 autocentre also put the car up on the ramp for me to have a look at the exhaust clamps (cracked) and inspect the waxoyl treatment by Shiltech last month. - and they wouldn’t take any money from me as they were running behind my booked appointment time. - sometimes it’s the small things that make you happy.:)
