Trident warranty

For those that have doubts about the benefits of the extended Trident warranty in the 4th/5th years, this might be of interest.
as some of you may know from my posts, I bought my car privately a couple of months ago, with 4 months transferable extended Trident warranty. A week or so ago, I noticed some of the leather was coming unstuck from the trim in and around the centre console. Colchester Maserati, having inspected the car said they wasn't happy about a couple of other areas trim wise,( that I wasn't even aware of) have now got authorisation form Maserati to replace every single bit where there it's happening, or where it could potentially happen. This includes two brand new door cards, the extent of the problem on these being one tiny bubble less than the size of a penny coin. They have also agreed the two 1/R buttons for the MC-shift and even a replacement windscreen that has delaminated very slightly at the top.
Couldn't be happier, and I'm very impressed.

Good to hear they stepped up to the mark this time..........other times when out of warranty they are very dismissive when patently obvious the problem was built/designed in and their fault

It isn't out of warranty, it's covered by the 4/5 year bumper to bumper Trident extension, the previous owner paid 3 grand+ for the privilege! I'm impressed that it does appear to be as good as the original 3 year new car warranty, and getting a new screen was an even bigger bonus.
Edit:Especially as I've just seen from the other thread a new screen fitted is circa 3 grand on its own!!!

This echoes my experiences of Maserati honouring their extended warranty: basically it is second to none. Of course this also depends on being well represented by the service dealer which was also second to none (HR Owen).

  • Examples of cosmetic fixes: replaced cf trim on centre console/gear shift due to slight hazing; replaced steering wheel due to slight bowing on top trim plate; door re-alignment
  • Examples of mechanical fixes: front bushings replaced due to slight play; a/c compressor replaced due to humming; fixed wind noise from side mirrors; trunk 'auto close' fix; elimination of various cabin creaks and ticking noises; dis-lodged light fittings replaced

These aren't even all the fixes - if I were to tot up the total parts and labour value I would say it way, way exceeds the cost of the extended warranty.

The best thing of all is that when the car is eventually out of warranty, you know you have a very well sorted car!
