Trying to source a GT with MC Sportline goodies

Guys,

My nephew has come of age for his first Mazzie and we are on the look out for a GT with the MC sport line pack - must be MC shift. I know many owners that went for the MC sport line pack didn't go the whole hog (e.g. they may have left out the carbon fibre centre console and other internal features) so we won't be too picky. As long as all the exterior visible MC sportline goodies are there (i.e. front/side/rear spoiler) we'll consider it.

The young whippersnapper is open minded to colour combos too and there are a number of permutations that would suit.

Currently looking at this car:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3693954.htm

Anyone know of or had any dealings with BJC of Dorset who are currently marketing the above vehicle as I have never heard of them? http://dealerservices.autotrader.co.uk/44966/index.htm

I am partly responsible for getting the young lad into Maserati's and I hope it will be a passion that will live long. As a result, I am keen to get him off to a good start with a decent car (and obviously not a lemon)!

I have a QP myself but have driven several GT's (both with auto and MC shift gearboxes) so have a bit of insight.
However, any other buying advice from owners would be very much appreciated. I will of course scour the forum but if there is anything specific/important I should be aware of please feel free to point it out.

Many Thanks,
Dhanj

Welcome. Hope you like your QP.

You are asking for a very specific car. Why not buy new or used and then add the various body parts to the car you really want?

We have considered that bigbob but that is stretching the budget that little bit too far at the moment.

Have you spoken to all the main dealers? I believe they don't advertise all their stock at once so they may have just what you're looking for.

James Huberstone at GrayPaul Notts would be my first call. If he doesnt have what you want, I expect he'll know if there's one coming or where to get it.

Good luck & happy shopping!

Thanks Woody. Yes, we have spoken to a few main dealers who are aware of our requirements but I guess we could always ring a few more!

Not dealt with the dealer but that car has been for sale for a while so there is a deal to be done.....................It also seems to be the cheapest MC shift with all the kit......If it was me I would make sure it has the MC set up as well. It sits the car lower and does handle better....Not many added this but def worth hunting down...

For me I would go MC.....The ones I've seen looked better as there is not as much wheel arch gap....But thats just me.......

Andyk/Bigbob, thanks for the info. This guy is describing his car as being lower AND having skyhook suspension so I'll have to look into this further.

Interesting. Always the debate with a used car - does the vendor know exactly what he is selling?

Hard to tell from the pics but from the side view it looks like it may have the handling pack.......With a car that new they may have the spec sheet in the history file.

For any of you interested in the MC Sportline goodies and are not sure what they comprise, this is a nice one pager that gives a quick synopsis:

http://maseratiofseattle.com/MaseratiGTConvertibleAccessories.aspx

EDIT: Of course this doesn't replace the car configurator on Maserati's web-site, which gives the complete detail. I must say, however, that the car configurator offers so much choice it blows your mind!

EDIT: I believe that the car configurator confirms that you can NOT order a GTS with skyhook suspension AND the MC-set-up (which includes improved brakes and lower suspension). So the detail for the car advertised by BJC in Dorset could be incorrect as it indicates BOTH the MC Sportline suspension AND Skyhook. However, Maserati offer so many customisation options it's possible I could be missing a trick!
