Was that with the ignition on, or off?? Either the pump is duff, or maybe it has a fuse blown, depends how it's supposed to work I suppose??

The compressor in my GT has an inline switch (nasty, rotary thing) which may be missed if you're not looking for it.

Can I also, at this point, recommend Goop puncture repair / preventative. I know tyre shops hare it, but I had a puncture in my rear bike (Sprint ST 1050) some years back, when it was nearly new. The Goop did exactly what it said on the tin up at *cough* mph until the tyre was un-usable.

When you take the tyre to get replaced, prepare your best stoney face, and blame the PO when the tyre chap breaks the bead and sprays goop everywhere ;)

It is shocking that little switch. I think it's knackered, so I might just buy a replacement comressor. £10-20 its worth it and better than the original.

I keep 2 spare's in the car and a repair kit due to the nature of my work and the times I travel I need to be able to get to work with as little hassle as possible, one spare is a space saver the other is a full size spare. If like the other day when I did have a problem and had a blow out on the M4 I got someone in to do it rather than use my spares up but I was heading home and in no rush

Where do you keep a full size spare? I didn't think the wheel well was large enough to hold one?

I've worked it out from the manual, that I should get around 22mpg on a motorway run, that's great, I thought it was a lot lower than that.

C, I know about the optimism, but I think it has a lot to do with the lead plates we owners tend to put in our right boots????

As an (ex) biker: '186 mph officer? Impossible! I've only been out 5 minutes!'

In seriousness, I find the GT's consumption and range calculations to be wildly OTT. Even allowing for heavy right feet, I'd expect it to be able to measure fuel flow and do a little bit of division :)

But then, low fuel consumption is hardly high on my list of requirements when buying a new vehicle :)
