UK installer for AuCar unit for Maserati Granturismo

I'm looking to buy a 2014-2015 Maserati Granturismo Sport. That model does not have the new infotainment kit, but I need a reversing camera (to park in awkward spaces without a friend to guide me) and CarPlay (because I need Google Maps and sometimes Spotify), so I'm looking for options to retrofit them into the car.

I read about AuCar units which replace original dashboard components and can cater for a reversing camera too. Second generation does not look bad at all:

The bigger question is how to get one fitted. I am not confident in my own ability to do that, and I would trust an average garage even less. The question then is, if anyone can recommend a reputable Maserati specialist garage who would be able to do the installation and give a warranty?

Alternatively, if there are good alternatives to AuCar kit, would be great to know that too.

Welcome. Depends on where you are but Sports Italia have a solution and much success in fitting. Above that Audio Infile in Bishop's Stortford have a very good reputation.

Thanks CatmanV2, I'll reach out to them. Forgot to say that I'm in SW London, so Sports Italia is definitely an option for me.

I concur, he found my house well enough. Not seen the Gen 1 or 2 but Matt did say that it has extra features on the map. Tempted myself...

The features that allow you to find other forum members? Like a Marauders' Map but designed to help you detour to avoid actually meeting them, or going to their houses?

Hi Matt - I know that I am picking up from an old thread here but have you done any touchscreen climate control units to replace the standard a/c controls? Also, is there any option to get USB-C charger ports?

You can get USB-C adapters for the lighter sockets. Also USB-A to USB-C adapters are cheap and readily available. Not ideal, perhaps, but certainly workable

I have this. Some on here don't like it as it is not OEM.

For me it has transformed the look of the dashboard and made the car even more enjoyable.

Not cheap, but in my opinion worth it.

I think if (when) I get back in a GT this is going to be a requirement. Much as I don't like touch screens in cars, the extra functionality cannot be ignored (excusing the luddites that thing rear view mirrors are the work of the very devil)

I see that Tesla-style touchscreen headunits are available from aucar - anyone has experience of using it yet? Any bugs etc?
