Hi Loz

Yes, its me! Had a busy year or so. Seem to have far less time now that I'm retired than when I worked!

GS is sadly neglected, hardly done 1000 miles this year :( speedo currently shows that vast number of 11,352. Its due a service and I need to get some new tyres, so just researching a bit. Trouble with reading the forums is you end up rembering all the other things that niggle you. The list is now standing at
Full set of Vredestiens
Refinish wheels dark grey
New set of wheel bolts
New bonnet badge
Remove Navtrak to stop battery drain
Clear all drains to stop interior getting wet
New boot seal, water again!
Formula Dynamics DBWEM :)
Annual service, probably at RAA. Used Emblem last time, but felt the extras where a little dear.
Investigate suspension error light that occasionally comes on
Drive the buggar more!

Really must make the effort to actually meet you all one of thses days.

Full set of Vredestiens.....18s...or 19s......which are proving hard to source.
Refinish wheels dark grey
New set of wheel bolts...or hows about a rechromed set via the forums recrhromer...£60 or so!!!
New bonnet badge
Remove Navtrak to stop battery drain....good idea!
Clear all drains to stop interior getting wet...see Conaeros guide to some of this
New boot seal, water again!.....did you check the actual "tub" for the spare wheel.......silicone it up!!!
Formula Dynamics DBWEM :)

Great to hear from you again Val , and that the Gs is going strong ,

obviously retirement suits you , but these cars do need driving other wise the foibles just seem to show up more often seems illogical but thats how it is , any help needed Val be sure to ask ,always someone here, if you have time the xmas do, starting down at Ace Cafe on the 11th Dec might be a good place to catch up and introduce ourselves , feel free to partake in as much or as little as suits you

warm regards loz

Hi Val and a warm welcome to the forum. That's some list you have, but at least it's a mixture of maintenance and some choice improvements. Adding the fun bits does take some of the sting out of the necessities. Hope you'll check in regularly and contribute to the forum. Regards, Miles.

Hi All

Thanks for the welcome. I've spent a very enjoyable evening reading through the posts. Great fun. Just wish the weather was better, really got the itch to get on with some of the jobs on the car. Unfortunately I can only get one car in the garage at the moment and that space is taken up with my '69 Mercedes 280sl. If it wasn't for the snow, I'd put that out for a day or two so that I could get the GS in the warm, maybe later in the week.

Thanks Loz. Yes retirement is GREAT! BUT, I don't know how I ever found time to work. I try to use the GS, but these days I do very few long journeys and am very aware that short shopping type journeys are worse for a car than not being used. I think my new policy will have to be to make Tescos in Chichester my 'local' store :) Don't think I can make the Ace Cafe meet as I have a lot on that week, but will keep my eyes open for the next meet.

The jobs list isn't so bad, I've not spent anything on her for about two years so I can't complain and as said, the fun improvements take the pain out of the rest.

Anyone know when GS rear Vredestein's will be available again?

Thanks

Val

Hi Val, did you get your suspension error light sorted? I have been having similar issues and when the car was taken in they discovered a leaking rear shock absorber. I'm not out of the woods yet, as I hear the light is still on.

I have seen posts on other forums about a faulty wheel bearing sensor being the issue.

If anyone else has seen and gotten this error and resolved it, please do share details!

Thanks!

I've been in Fontainebleau, France for the last month and a half...can't wait to leave and move back to the Singapore campus!!!! It is raining, grey, and cold here!!! hahaha

All kidding aside, I miss my car and driving!!! I just hope she's ready during my brief visit next week.

Hope you are all well!

p.s. I saw (er, heard) an Alfa 8C drive away from me in Barcelona...OMG!

I find camskill the cheapest for tyres...Just bought two fronts for my GTV from them...£15 cheaper than the rest...
