Very odd clutch wear value?

the launch rocked up today - so I thought I’d see what’s going on clutch wise…

seems I have a new closed clutch position of 1.8m rather than a couple of cm… which is perhaps a little off right?

Give me a clutch wear of -26551% :)

The self calibrated value shows as 21.72 and the PID is 4.19.

I’m guessing with this I’m not going to really get any idea of where the wear is at right?

Thoughts appreciated!

You likely have a really old version of the x431 software. Lots of bugs have been fixed.

You can try some of the other cars that have F1 transmissions (Ferrari or Maserati) and see if you get more sensible values. Or update your software (if you have a legit license)

So my x431 was current - I think someone had just written **** into it :) I’ve set a it to a value that gives a better % so I can monitor but I’m expecting the slippage anytime soon though! 92153

If you can get a measurement on the plate, it’s 6.5mm thick when new and 6mm when 50% worn.

My new clutch purchased a year ago measured 6.2 mm, I'm wondering if they have changed the specs.

Ah. My numbers were a GT clutch. Perhaps that is the difference between them.

ok so got the little heat shield out the way a bit and got a spring caliper in with what I reckon is a pretty decent proximity to thickness.. its around the 5.8mm mark.
According to history I have, the clutch was defo changed in 2007 at 41k miles - and not a mention since... and its at 80k now.
Does that sound the right sort of number for that sort of mileage?

Irrespective of measurements, in the region of 40 K seems pretty good and likely ready for a change.

Mine was about 5.8 mm at 43K mi and the grooves were still there, 0.5-0.6 mm, as were the rivet heads. It probably had another 10K left, but I'm glad they changed it, the output shaft bearing was beginning to spin in the housing.
