Not sure what the record time it has taken anyone to buy a Maserati is... but I must be homing in on it now as I close in on the 2 month mark!
Anyway, in positive news, it finally went through a PPI with Supercar Centre in Sheffield today and the overall verdict is good. No issues with the cats and that was verified by scope, compression test, diagnostics etc. so as thorough as can be. Incidentally does anyone know what the reference PSI should be per cylinder on a compression test? They were pretty good but I'd be interested to know how close to standard they all were...
The only thing highlighted with any real concern is that it could use a new set of disks all round. Not a major job labour wise... but I am aware these are quite pricey. Can anyone point me in the best direction of purchase given that the group buy angle seems to have fallen rather flat on itself? As they are serviceable, I'm not expecting to be able to haggle much on the car on that basis... but knowing the exact cost of replacement may help a bit.
Really happy that everything else got the thumbs up though and verified that it was otherwise, as straight as expected. I did note that the brakes were on the underwhelming side so this probably tallys, otherwise it drove great.
Hopefully we will have some decent weather in the next week so I can collect it and perhaps take a detoured route home via a few roads in the Pennines ;-)
Cheers,
Chris
