Thought I'd update this for info purposes.

I've just taken out warranty with WD for £3800 for 37 months. Basic price was £3600 and I got betterment clause removal for £200 so they'll cover 100% of parts for the full duration as opposed to the sliding scale contribution. Thanks to the people on thei thread for educating me regards betterment.

As it happens for me personally I got 6 months dealer warranty and whilst WD are going to run their policy alongside it, if I don't claim in the first what is 5 months now (as I've had the car a month) then they'll add these months to the end of the policy

WD warranty update

I've had a sensible conversation with WD now, based on the great advice here re- betterment etc. When I talked it through with the WD rep initially lots of potential big ticket stuff wasn't included, motors, suspension, betterment to name just 3, so need to be very specific to understand what's included and what isn't. I'm waiting for underwriter approval on those items now, but with an inspection it shouldn't be a problem. I'll let you know when I get the final 'everything included' figure to see how they stack up.

Not good news on the WD underwriter, who has unfortunately declined and won't cover suspension on my late 2007 QP. (No inspection, just via telephone conversations). On such a heavy car this is an important element that I'd definitely want cover on, so I'm not going ahead. I think it's going to be a repair-fund war chest solution for me going forward.

Yep stick the ££ in the bank and it's available if you need it. Have a holiday if you don't.
