Sorry been struggling today, can't think why.

I have fancied a Spyder for a year now, just fancy something cheap and cheerful for a while and I am chuffed to bits with her.

See needs a little fettling but I am not being too precious about her. The lacquer has flaked on the GS front end it has on it, so £300 will sort that out. The rest of the bodywork is really really good

It's a 2002 4200 Spyder in Medaterano Blue with tan interior and a dark blu hood, 37k miles and in exceptional condition so I believe the mileage to be wholly genuine.

As mentioned it has GS bumper and grill, GS rear boxes, cruise and all the extras.

Planned upgrades:
Exhaust, even with GS boxes, way too quiet. I am going to have them cut open and make the open valves route straight through. Then retro fit the vacuume switch system to its separate switch. So it's fully controllable. Delete the mid box and fit an X pipe. I will think about the cats at this point but imagine the exhaust will give me about the right level of loudness without going further.

Gearshifts, going to have the software fiddled with and the clutch is not long for this world, or maybe at 70% worn I might be able to adjust it, it's far too sloppy. As I have a ramp at home now, I might attempt the clutch change myself, then have it balanced onside if required.

I'll get some pics when I get a mo but it's a fun machine, cheap and cheerful bit of summer fun

Quality thread - not been around here much, prepping for the bambino, come on for a few mins and see MAFs bought the yellow GS (congrats Mark, it looks great!), and Matt's gone and got a Spyder! For a minnute or two, I thought it was a GS spyder (which had me muttering something that sounds like "jammy bar steward")....Dem, you got a BF GS too!?

Must read some more threads.

Enjoy your new toys chaps, get some pics up when you get a chance.

Cheers

Excellent Matt...stick up a few more pics.........sounds a list of works needing doing....but all to enhance the thrill of running a Spyder.....

Are you BennyD's southern doppelganger....;)

Matt, sounds like a great project and one with a GS spoiler already....front end does look soo much better on the Spyder with that bumper......

Its actually not a GS front, well, not completely. Its a Facelift bumper with the GS grill. So whats the difference I hear you ask, well (nerd hat on) the chin spoiler is different in the fact that the GS has vents on the side.

It's actually a slightly different height and depth too but the vent is the most noticeable alteration.

Ok, Dicky thanks. I was going to try and emulate the side vent but I dont think Ill bother, for all intense purposes, it is a GS front end, so I may save my pennies and save for side skirts and a rear bumper, probably just a rear bumper and put the saving towards a clutch.
