My friend had an F430 F1 and he liked it more than a manual that he drove, its quicker and smoother but tue manuals will be tue ones that keep value in 20years

Personally I would prefer spending the next 20 years using the F1 and if it was worth less at that point, I'd gladly take the hit.

Will sa I did hate paddle shift for years until I had the CSL....If I had the choice it would be a good paddle shift over a man now.

I am sooo glad I got a CC instead of a manual. I just need a DBW to sharpen it up.

Well (changing the subject slightly), the GS went to a new home late last week.

It was a short but sweet ownership and I'd like to think that I'll be back behind a Maser at some point. The GS was the right car for me, but it came at the wrong time I guess.

Currently carless as I managed to sell my Lexus within 1 days - that went an hour after the Maserati. So my only mode of transport until I can get myself sorted out with a new motor is my Carrera.... (mountain bike).....

Still looking at an M3 e46, but probably a cheaper one at around £12-13k as most of my driving is just to the station and back and the CSs I've see are holding their price around £18k. Had thought about a Mazda RX-8 as I like the idea of the extra doors but the engine makes a strange (sewing machine) noise when revved.

that is very nice Woody. To be honest the best colours are Estoril Blue, Imola Red, Laguna Seca Blue and Phoenix Yellow

I used to love Estoril, but IMO that is the colour of the E36 (along with Dakar Yellow). If I was to have an E46 again, it would need to be IR, LSB or PY - IIRC, LSB and PY were only made upto 2003, with one or two being reg'd later.

Going to be boring and go for silver / grey.....

Woody - was yours a SMG or manual? General wisdom seems to siggest that maunals are the way to go, but could be tempted by the SMG for the blips..

Thinking about taking a look at this one at the weekend if I can get over there:
