Yeah, it's not cultish subservience, but more like 'Fork it! Just pass the deadly poison - I'm done with all this nonsense!"

Things will might look better different in the morning.

Or not.

Personally I'm mostly happy with a different world view that's been proven over millenia.

There was a fantastic program about peanut butter on the other day. They interviewed a prepper who had stored 3 months' supply of food for 16 years (I suspect not the same 3 months' supply)

When asked why, his answer was along the lines of 'We live in an unstable worlds these days'

Yep. So unstable that in 16 YEARS he's not needed that food supply once.......

There are good reasons why people have been predicting the end of the world for, basically, ever. But they have nothing to do with actuality or reality. System 1 thinking has a lot to answer for. Not least our survival for most of the last 3m years. Not so much in the last 4 thousand ish.....

Oh, I'm not worried about the end of the world, I'm forking passed off with having to live in a world fill of forking morons, talking nonsense. But I will calm down no doubt.

Things will look better in the morning as I am off the Blenheim to vaguely look at cars while MrsMarkMas tries to look happy while just reading the paper.

The perception of the "end of the world" can take on many forms.....your idea of it will be different to mine.
Mine revolves around global fiscal collapse. Actuality and reality suggests we're already there.

Re booze, this was nice.
