That a shame. The upper steering column is Alfa 166, so no doubt someone could / has sorted it. Main dealers don’t know these cars anymore, they just want to throw parts at them.

And then a big bill at the customer...

This usually can be remedied by replacing the upper shaft bearing, something we can do.
