I was present when this was sold at auction on Thursday; two bidders went head to head and it was all over in a couple of minutes. Note that the hammer price is given, to which you have to add a buyer's premium thereby raising the total by about another £20k!

Silly money.......150k......great history but wasted in peoples houses should be in museums so everyone gets to see it

I have mixed feelings about the book. On the one hand it's a rare piece of history which would be nice to own, whilst on the other hand I could acquire a some very desirable cars if given that kind of money. As far as monetary value goes, a similar volume is said to have sold in 2006 for around £110k and gold would have been a much better investment over the last 5 years.

Nice to dream of either though.
