Why do people put pimp glass in the front windows?

I've no issue with tints behind the B pillar (preferrably factory tinted glass, not film) but it looks plain wrong (and possbily illegal) in front of them.

Maserati will do you light tinting from the B pillar back on the QP but, strangely, not on the GT.

That would look o.k in cheshire, in the affluent areas, most cars have all the windows tinted apart from the windscreen, god knows why, looks cr!p

My QP has the "sun protection glass" option. All the glass is different although the tinting even in the rear isn't that dark. Its actually a pain in the backside,

1 - stone chips in windscreen can't be repaired with the glue method (results in milky patch at point of repair).
2- it hard to reverse at night (can't see gate posts/lampposts very easily)
3- you can't tell if you have cop on your tail (not good if you want to keep your license).

that could be a GTS Automatic the GTS Automatic doesn't have any skirts, only the GTS MC has the skirts, look in your GT brochure if you have one.

No illegal having tints on both windows..only the windscreen.......I torn on this as I always think if you have the back ones tiinted and not the front ones it makes it look like a van..............Think I just wouldn't have it done....

You cant have black tints on the front windows as that is illegal i believe but you can have like a smoke/grey tint on the front windows.

I tinted my mrs rav4 few years ago and it looked good....
Went for midnight all round and never got pulled over, but have heard stories of people geting asked to remove it when pulled over there and then, with whatever they can find...

The leaglity of tinted front windows is down the the % of tint. You can if I recall correclty have up to 30% tint on front side windows. The Police use a card which is held to the window to measure the tint levels

i was asked to remove mine off the front windows when i got home on a previous car. Was not an easy job by a long shot. Although i only did it on the third request. I think i was a marked man by then by the local constabulary.
