Why do they do this for items from the USA??!!

Am just putting this up for "display" purposes.......it really surprisess me when so many items are advertised on ebay from the USA at either full rate...or in this instance.....at a reasonable price....but the delivery price is horrific??!!

Explanations and theories welcome!

......hhhhhmmmmmmmmmm.......you think ?...still sounds bizarre.....well lets say.....when their cars are priced in USA $ equivalents to ours in sterling......their other items always seem pricey!
