Window not doing its little drop when door opened

Now this is a really annoying one. As title says. Driving along yesterday when the window did its little drop, all by itself. Door handle not touched. Door definitely not opened. Put back up manually.
Then it does it again,a few times while still driving.

Get home. Try open door. Doesn't drop...
Can only get out by opening window manually a bit. Then it won't shut when door closes....

I'm guessing a solenoid? But where is it.... and I'm also guessing access is very horrible....

(Sorry 4200 facelift)

Maybe. On my GT, this is the first sign that the battery is needing a charge. Quite common I think. One of the signs of graceful degradation of none essential functions.
I have given the orifices and the handle a liberal spray of switch clean/ lubricator.
However, one door microswitch had to be replaced

There are a number of the little solenoids in the door.
Internal handle - operates when you open door from inside
External handle -as above but for outside
Window winder - to say stop at point to allow easy entry

Hello,
Only just seen your post.
On my 4200 Facelift I also had the window drop problem - never whilst going along though.

I ended up replacing the microswitch on the window lift mechanism - the hardest to get at of course.
There's an excellent "how to" guide here:-

I used an actual Maserati microswitch, not the suggested replacement one, but whilst I had the window lift mechanism out I did have it welded stronger, as suggested.

Have had no problems since. (Should I have said that ???)
Hope this helps,
Tony

First check if the car detects whether the door is open or not, if it doesn’t sense that then its the door lock solenoid is shot.

Hard to tell from your description what could be the problem.
There are micro switches on interior and exterior handles which control the window dipping.
Also a micro switch on the regulator to limit the window dip when you open the door.
Can you hear the switches click when you operate the handles?
Probably a door card off job to have a proper check of everything, but also wiring between car body and door could be a possible problem

Thanks everyone. Typically, the car has fixed itself in this respect....
Though Autoshield think it's the window reg probably on its way out.
I'll have to wait till / if it does it again...

Mine has stopped dropping and lifting when you open and close the door. It also doesn't go all the way up or down at the touch of the button (you have to keep your finger on the switch) Im wondering if this is related ? (Passenger Door) L/H) (3200 GT)

That particular micro switch as shown on the window mech is adjustable my switch was not clicking causing problems i just adjusted it 010/015 inch to get the micro switch working again and access to this switch is easy remove the inner door card and the switch will be visable this may be the problem but worth a look
