I was walking down The Bridges, last night and I spotted this lovely example in traffic. I can't think I've ever seen it before either!

Apologies if this is you; I post it for no other reason than the enjoyment of other owners and the reminder that it's still worth getting your Trident out in Autumn! ( so to speak...)

Jim,

I have a feeling it Paul Santorini's. The guy who organises Hoptoun House.

I could be wrong though he may have a Kamsin.

BB, when did you first get a Maserati...history before that?

P

Got my 3200 in 2001. Had a load of fast German stuff - Audi, BMW and Merc with 6 or 8 cylinders. Brief period of time with a Boxster S but not for me! Never owned a 10 or a 12 - something for the future. Always regretted not buying a 550 10/12 years ago - best car I have ever driven.

550 has really started to go up in price as well.......You could get one under 40k a few months ago now most are 45k plus...

All the older stuff is going up. Just like the late 80s but for different reasons this time. Doubt it will last.

Yeah the older stuff is increasing in value, i have noticed Vauxhall Carleton's are holding their value very well.

The Omega, the Carleton's successor is very sought after, especially the 3.0 V6 model complete with timber decking inside and biscuit crushed velour interior.

Thames Valley Police had the Omegas and the joy riders realised that, being RWD and having poor traction, they did not work in fields etc so that's where they always took the FWD stuff they nicked so as to lose plod.

regarding the Merak...

Hey Pete; I didn't realise Paul was in the family; I thought he was with the red-cars, so to speak hence his e-mail address...

yeah, I can really see the appeal of Merak's having seen one in this colour. I think it was actually an SS.
