All good points to consider thank you, but I was really wondering about using an App based system as I have not done this before.
It seems easy and reasonable security but I repeat I have not used one before

Back to the original Q. No. But I do use Chase Bank, which seems to work well. Interest is good on savings, no nasty charges for foreign adventures and somehow I've been accumulating some kind of cashback. It's not my main account, but I quite like it.

Zopa started life as a peer-to-peer lender. It was an early mover and established a decent following. I invested in p2p lending for many years with them and had excellent returns. They recently withdrew from this market (the loan write-offs were beginning to hurt them, I think) in order to focus on being a bank, and accordingly obtained a banking licence. I don't use them (revolut is my online bank of choice because of their excellent fx features) but they impressed me when I had money with them in the p2p market.

Since you have money to save, wouldn't it be better to pay off any debt such as mortgage first, you'd effectively be getting 3% or whatever your mortgage rate is.

You’d be covered by the deposit gtee scheme so the only other thing you need to satisfy yourself with is the Apps security re account access etc
I’d be surprised if that wasn’t up to speed.

For those with cash under their mattresses, don’t forget to swap your paper £20 and £50 notes before 30 September.
