Hi Joe,

That looks like a great trip! It's years since I was there, but still looks just as good.

Attached is a PDF of the pics from when I bought the Spyder - there are some interior ones there. If there's anything in particular you'd like a close-up photo of, let me know and I'll send.

Thanks for the photos Del, our cars could be twins! The cars mileage is the same as mine so your interior leather should be fine.i had a few light marks on the leather near the hood and used furniture clinic leather repair paint (Cream) Works a treat!
At the last car meeting/show i had made the mistake of putting those plastic wheel bolt covers on the car,i was watching the scruitineer as he judged the car, and he just shook his head when looking at the wheels!
(I got a third place but I think that mistake let me down! lol)

So was thinking to get it done properly (chrome perhaps) but was priced at over £250 to chrome all 20 bolts.

Not had the car out yet since i got back but I had it on a trickle charger so the battery is toped up.
Not sure as to what to do over the winter I do not want to put it on stands, so will probably just run it in and out of the garage now and then. and short drives as long as there is no salt on the road.

I will be getting the alloys refurbished but will wait till next year i think.
What about you Del? You going to use the car over the winter or lay up?

Hi All, unfortunatly my garage has a slight incline so car will roll out if not left in gear/wheels blocked etc. etc.
So came across this gadget there are various names for it Wheel mat stoppers, parking aid etc.
What it is,is a small ramp you drive over and it will hold the car in place, without handbrake or leaving it in gear

(And more importantly will stop you going too far forward and hiting the wall and the **** that would rain down if that happened!!)
Have orderd a set so will let you know if it works (£26.81 so worth a try)

My old garage was the same. I had a 1ft length of 2 x 1 screwed to the floor, I knew when I bumped over that I was far enough back and it stopped the car rolling forward. Sorted lol

Well done Allan wish I had thought of that Doh!
Actualy if you put a strip of wood more or less the garage width i would not matter if the car was not quite straight.
Anyway I have bought those plastic ones so will see how they fair.

Hi all, As mentioned previously my water/oil pump need replacing

I have a chance to get a usa spec unit (3 fixing for oil delivery tube) but am not sure if my unit is 2 fixing.

Anyway my question is does anybody know what the difference is between the european water/oil pump and the america/canadian one?

If the pump is the same apart from the 3or 2 bolt oil tube I could just change the end of the tube to fit but I do not know if ther is any other difference. Any help Would be most grateful received!

What's the supply of the pumps like these days ?
It's over 9 years since I did the one on the last 4200 I had and they were plentiful then.

The only difference I am aware of is the pipe which goes from the pump to the oil tank. It is routed differently because of the heat shields and an exhaust manifolds are different.

Assuming your pump failed because of the water pump shaft, would it not be easier to swap the new water pump onto the old oil pump?

Thats A really good idea Zep.if its only the pipe I am sure there are ways to make new pipes and ends (metal printing)I think I will just get the USA spec pump and hope for the best. Thanks for the suggestion Zep

I just had word from my supplier that Maserati have said they are no longer making these pumps, so gold dust does not come into it.

Hi All,Well new pump arrived today as the old one is still in the car i cant really compare the Two as yet. This one does have the 3 hole connection which I am not sure if I have, but i have ordered a 3 hole oil pipe so one way or another i will get this to fit (Fingers crossed)

Same as the one I fitted in mine.

Your car was an european spec was it not Phil? So perhaps after all these pumps are the same and its only the route of the oil pipe thats different if so that would be great!

The three bolt flange goes with the US spec cats. Making one fit the other shouldn’t be too tricky.

Interesting as mine definitely had the euro spec manifolds on her.
Got mine through Dick Lovett's in Swindon.

What I am led to believe is that both 2 hole flange and 3 hole were also euro spec ,it seems to depend on your engine number, But I may be wrong on this.
If the 3 hole flange pipe that I have ordered is different from my 2 hole pipe (bent differently) I may just see if i can cut the end 3hole flange and weld/braze whatever, to my old pipe.
If this seems too simplistic, its a maserati after all, I will not be in the least way supprised.

It is a US CDN spec vs Euro Spec thing, but bear in mind that cars with US spec emissions gear were sold in Europe.

There are two part numbers, one is for US CDN and has three bolts if you look at images, the other is not US CDN and has two holes. The two part numbers below are the only ones listed for this component.

The three hole pipe will be very close to a euro spec manifold and will not allow the heat shield to fit.

Personally, I’d swap the casing over on the pump to keep it how it should be. If not, be very sure of the welder (back purging etc) as a bit of welding slag will make a big mess very quickly.

Doing a water pump swap is still an option.Problem is I do not know what the innards of my pump look like,as mentioned its giving of a sqeel i can, and have driven it with no overheating.
I presume the same shaft that turns the oil pump turns the water pump, so I suppose the only way to find out whats causing the squeel is to take it apart.
i think its time i had a talk with my mecanic and see what he can recomend
Any way many thanks Zep for taking the time to reply. It is much appreciated
