As asked by Matt, I'll attempt to upload a few pictures of my Khamsin. Time permitting I'll share some of my experiences of her with you.
She's a 1982 Tipo 120 Khamsin, chassis numer 433, so six away from the last allocated RHD number of 445, (Odd numbers used for RHD).
She currently has about 65K and to my shame has had about the same milage for the last few years due to lack of use. The original colour is silver with cream (described as Bianca) leather, grey carpets and dash top. Though the car has been resprayed in a modern Maserati shade of silver. I'm not that taken with the spray job and may consider a change of colour if and when I get round to it.
For those new to the type the spec is 4.9 Litre V8, dry sump with 4 double barrel 42DCNF Webbers. Usual fare of ZF 5 speed gearbox and Salisbury diff. Unusal for Maserati at that stage was the adoption of independant suspension for the GT car as it had been live axles in both the Indy and Ghibli. The front end is straight from a MK1 Jaguar and the rear end is an interpretaion of the Jaguar concept of a subframe with double wishbones encasing the rear axle.
The most radical difference was the use of Citroen hydraulics (and one of the reason some in Maserati circles do not rate the car) for the brakes, steering, clutch, pop up headlights and seat up & down movement. But the adoption of these systems add character to the car, which when you get used to it can be driven on finger tips, and stopped on a sixpence.
I'll do more of a write up some time later but hopefully if I'm successful there will be a few pictures attached.
Also if interested for more info take look at Ferraichat.com, under the Maserati thread for the Khamsin. Some great posts by folk a lot more knowledgable than me.
