I also feel that there has been no trickery here and that these parts have been made by different companies with different tools.

Logically thinking it through

*If* they had known there is a problem with the part and had it changed, it would indicate foreknowledge. Trying to hide that while telling their mechanics would put them in a world of hurt in event lots of SM members reporting the same fault......

Surely VOSA can demand to see any internal documents or Change Orders relating to modified components? If there is a cover up and they are found out they are in major ******* trouble and let's face it would they risk it?

I suspect they might 'ask' I very much doubt they have the legal power to 'demand'

And that's rather my point, though. I don't think they would risk, which is why I don't think there's any cover up.

Well I'd hoped to avoid getting involved in this. :(

My car up at Ferdi's in Lytham and he says there is an 8mm crack in the RH lower control arm. He can get the part from Maranello quicker (3 days) than from Eurospares (10 days), but still ~£900+vat. Hnnnnnnng. Going for a lie down to recover.

and so another one...sorry to hear Phil.

VOSA seem to be rather slow with their response...how many days do you need to read a report?

Sorry to hear Phil but even at £900 plus it is better than not knowing and coming a real cropper :(
Pain I know, but take the time to advise vosa.

gutted for you Phil - I am also dreading a check up post Le Mans. There is squeaking from the front suspension and I wonder if a bush has seized. Oh well - better check and be safe. The cash I will worry about later. Safety first.

Phil,

Sorry to hear you've succumb too. Please please please please (ad infintium) file a report with the DVSA as the rest of us have done. Things are happening there so the more fuel we can add to the fire the better chance of a proper solution for everyone.

Cheers

Yes I will follow up with Vosa/DVSA once I see the part and take some pictures etc.

I also need to pencil in some time to read the full 38 pages here and become an expert in this. Sigh.

Way back in the thread wasn't there a summary list of all those affected? Phil and any later ones should perhaps be added.
I used the summary to present to my indi to prove the seriousness of the situation out there, as he had never seen any.
He was aware of the changed design some years ago.

All, as Mark has said anyone with any issues must forward to the DVSA.....Things are happening in the back ground that you are not all aware off and the more info we have the better. Not saying that we will get a quick resolve but we are getting different people involved that should push this one way or the other.

Received a call from Eurocarparts.
The parts are on a 6 month delivery.
No price offered.
There was a suggestion that Maserati dealers were given priority by OCAP.
My spyder was at Grimaldi yesterday and the wishbones are OK.
Maserati spares supplier in Germany www.maseratispares.com list the wishbones at €500 - 550.

I was getting worried (committed to pay at £900) / excited at the chance for cheaper wishbones, but the situation looks the same for RH part (Gransport with Xenons) - 1120€

The parts look the same in the drawings, just an extra bolt on bracket which is part of the assembly item 10 for the xenons.
Could the old bracket be re-used?
Correct me if that is not the case.
Same part for Spyder, GS and 4200?

That is true, buy the cheaper 4200 whishbone and transfer your old bracket over, its just 3 screws.

I had an email from ocap saying the wishbones are no longer in production. Maybe they are willing to make a run for Eurocarparts but I won't hold my breath.

So what does that mean? Loads of cars sidelined, or that particular design/pattern no longer in production?
