Where do you buy your number plates?

I have used two sign shops local to me. One closed but the other still operates. Not at all expensive, last one was for my Ducati.

    Time to SORN

I used to leave mine in the garage once the salt was on the roads but if after a rainy spell, the salt had been washed off I would sometimes sneak out for a blast. I did this once and to my great annoyance - caught up with a gritter!

Maserati 4200 Coupe Cambio Corsa £9500

It is now sold after a long wait and not for as much as I would have liked. Not as much interest shown as I would have expected. A few people came and saw, hummed and harred and didn't come back, several stupid offers through Auto Trader and a few people who arranged to view but never turned up...

    Insuring your Maserati.....make this a "sticky"....Conaero?

Agreed. Maybe if they can't get the vehicle description correct we should be suspicious of their competence in other areas as well.

    Insuring your Maserati.....make this a "sticky"....Conaero?

I recently renewed the insurance on my 4200CC. I had switched to Churchill last year via an internet search of all the usual suspects. (Haven't Compare The Market become more expensive of late? It must be all those cuddly meercats and cinema tickets). Anyway, Churchill's renewal for this year...

Top end rattle at start up

Mine has always had what sounds like a tappet rattle for a few seconds on start up. I was a bit worried when I first bought it at 37k miles and had the oil flushed out and refilled with good stuff. The problem remained but usually only if the engine has not been run for a while (a week or more)...

Bodywork Blisters - what to do?

Thanks folks. That rear end respray scares me a bit but looking at the filler it clearly needed to be done. I won't be driving mine after December until spring so I'll take a deep breath then and see what I need to do.

Bodywork Blisters - what to do?

I am in need of good advice regarding the repair of two bodywork blisters in order to make them look right and also prevent recurrence. I have uploaded a picture. Its the same on both sides of the car - at the lower rear edge of the rear wheel arches where the rear bumper attaches. Small...

Sports Maserati brake discs - second group buy

Freshly machined metal often has a special kind of smell. When I was doing my engineering training I always took a deep breath of it when first entering a machine shop. Something special about it to a mechanical engineer - as good a fresh bread in its own way.

Sports Maserati brake discs - second group buy

I don't think I need any just yet (no advisory on last MOT) but I guess it would be wise to have some for the future. Have I missed the boat this time?

Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival 25th April 2015

Thanks Peter. Well, if we were to attempt restricting it to one or two of each model there would be very few Maseratis there! About four this year I would think. Yes, it does get crowded at peak times but refusing an application just because there was one of the models already entered would...

    Early 4200 Rear Wheel Bearings

Thanks Matt - it is my car that Duncan is dealing with. He tells me the bearing is now in and someone got a discount for him - was it you? As for the resistor route, I guess that could be fried with the later version of the bearing that I have - the next time a bearing knackers out. Many thanks...

    Early 4200 Rear Wheel Bearings

Folks, knowledgeable advice requested: I have found to my cost that the rear wheel bearings for early (2002) 4200s are different from later versions in that the resistance of the ABS sensor is 1.4 ohms whereas later in that year it changed to 1.7 ohms. If you fit a later bearing although it...

Bristol Italian Auto Moto Festival 25th April 2015

Currently we have 8 Maseratis entered - in 2014 it was 30 + a few gate crashers (will not be allowed again!) and in 2013 we had 16. A few more this year would be nice. There is not a lot of time left, so please apply ASAP.

    DIY Wheel Bearing Change.

I have found to my cost that the bearing for the early 4200 has a different ABS sensor to the one fitted from late 2002 onwards. Can anyone who has done it or knows for sure tell me if it is possible to use the later bearing on an early 4200 by carefully swapping the ABS ring? (or is the part...
