By his 2nd birthday he could walk down the street and name every car parked on the side of the road...So proud.

Maybe Frank, but the CSL would run rings around a 4200 on the road and track, not as pretty and doesn't contain any soul and passion but overall, the better car and you know it

Adam, well said but having owned one the CSL is one BMW that does have soul...Modern BMW's have lost this. The CSL was probably the last of the 'great' BMW drivers cars..It was the closest they got to recreating the magic of the E30 M3. The car involved, sounded out of this world and on track was a giant slayer. The speed you could carry into and out of corners was beyond...The thing is it was build to be something very different to a 3200, 4200 and GS...Different cars for different occasions.

Yeah, i dislike the new M3, it is too plain unless you look at the back and the interior is so bland, o.k the CSL didn't have much of an interior but it was a lightened meaner fitter version of the E46 M3, i regard it as the best BMW ever made even though i have never driven a car, you can just tell just by looking at your pics it is going to be mint on the right road and track. The 4200 and CSL are for different occasions as you would expect because Maserati did't make the 4200 to rival and M3.
