Discovered this car in the local classifieds and thought it was a very well priced example in a rare colour.

takes a while to load pics from Googlemail. give it a few secs....

@Andyk: you can really appreciate the color in the last photo...I am sure it is even more stunning in person...seller tells me he's received a few offers and will sell soon. Interesting "local" comp for my car...but i'll never sell ;)

Looks like salmon pink shimmer one of the colours designated for hairdressers cars,Nailpolish and people with a strange taste for colours.
I can understand that some want something a little different but i dont understand the Iridescent colours that are sometimes offered.
Is this a genuine Maserati colour or a respray?
Do i like it? Not really....cars nice but i tend to like the blues, blacks and gunmetal greys.
Red is not for me and nor is orange and even nana`s yellow car is one you need to think hard about, i nearly bought a similar one, but again a hard car to sell as limited desirability so i backed out (also didn`t want a 2002 car)
The basic standard colours are the ones that people go for.
Didnt someone do a colour chart of all the maserati cars sold over the last 5 years and what the colours where or something?

No this is a gen Maserati colour not a respray...Ram Ghibli was an old colour from way back in the range...70's I think. There is a touch of Salmon pink in certain light but in the flesh it looks really good. Masersod is the only GS in this colour I know of in this country...

I was lucky enough to get up close to Maser Sods Rami Ghibli at Silverstone. It's a stunning car, particularly with the mods that Maser Sod has made, and it's very rare. Adam, I can see why it might look at first glance to be a hairdressers colour, but I can assure you it aint!

Granted............ and i am sure there are many who would like that cars colour.
What i was trying to say was that there are some colours that are safe bets and will always encourage a sale and others that make you ask the question "can i live with it and can i resell it in the future"(in other words... can anyone else)
Well sure ...its yes to both questions......... but at what cost in time and money?.....a black car with either red leather or black leather and carbon is a far safer bet.So is silver, blue, grey, these are all cars that are "easy to live with" and even when looking for a car i do not write off a silver car (although i do not go looking for silver as its my least favourable colour but the right car could be silver but it is unlikely to be Yellow or salmon pink as these are a little to "in yer face" for me)
Its all very well having a loud sounding car but when its visually "loud" it can attract the wrong attention in a car-park or parked somewhere else.
There is a very fine line between outright awe at these cars and complete jealousy and i have already started to notice the very tiny but nonetheless existent, little car-park nicks and scratches.
Now i........ if i parked next to any car in any of my vehicles would show respect and rather jamb my fingers that dent there car but i think perhaps I am a rarity.(present company accepted)
I have watched people deliberately attempt to dent the Mercedes SL500 out of pure jealousy and even a forum member mentioned he got keyed or something.
This is because the majority of everyday people think we are a bunch of silver spoon in mouth, rich bar-stewards who have not had to do a days hard work for there money.
we woke up one morning yawned and opened our eyes and a maserati was sat there on the drive.
To a degree the colour would play a vital role in how the car blended into a car park and thats why i never bought the yellow spyder.
however i am just going on and on again as i tend to do after a bottle of ribena......This is Kirk to starfleet command signing off for the night...

Adam, you're right, there are certainly some fookers out there that are either just dimwits or they're purposely out to "sign" a nice car. The former should be pitied, the latter should be shot. Yes the colour may have an effect, but I think it's mainly the marque with the latter, and the advantage of the Trident is that it is relatively obscure and so it goes unnoticed by these cretins.

I won't argue either with your thoughts on colour, this is very subjective and personal. I admire red, but couldn't own one. For me though the Rami is different. It's not loud at all, but rather classy, and with it's rarity I'd jump at it straight away if the spec was right and I had the readies.

Yeh sorry about that but here is my gripe for today...
There i am at the service station, parked a respectable distance from the car using the service station pump in front of me but clearly in a que with my engine running.
I have waited there for a few minutes and i have noted the car pull up behind me after about 5 mins.
the person using the pump has paid and is returning to the car and i am not going to muscle him to get going i will wait till he pulls away then just slide in behind him.
then as he starts to pull away the car behind overtakes me and goes into the slot that i was just about to pull in to.
This 45 year old Fat ugly Bitsh gets out and just starts filling up.
So i stick my head out the window and say "hey what are you doing these is a que you know"
to which she replied "well you should have been quicker in that car" and carried on filling up.
I wished i were a woman for 60 seconds.. cause i have never hit a Fat middle aged tatood hAG from **** before, but i could if i was a girl !!
There was so much i wanted to say because to me that was one huge insult, but what can you do when its a woman? not a lot i guess.
Next time i will run her over!!!

P.S whats "Christ Adam...Thats **** of a reply.." ?? cause i dont know what the stars are

PPS i have seen red cars that photo pink ,so maybe the rami needs to be seen to judge.

Remain calm at all times Adam..You drive a Maserati and better then that.....The stars are the place where the devil comes from and where most of us are probably going when our time is up.....Not a bad word but censorshipis terrible on our forum of free speak...
