hmmmm.
The front end looks a bit odd.
the panel above the rad surround looks a different shade, paint protection film, bad lighting or bad repair work?
I've asked the seller.

Bound to have had the front done at that age but I think it's more a trick of the light.....

It's more likely to be the lighting for the picture than anything else. As there's a seam on the 3200s which isn't there on the 4200/GS it's more apparent. Could have been repainted due to road rash though; a sign of a caring owner IMO. Also, the car is Grigio Alfieri - well-known as the most difficult of the Maserati colours to match. Ask Matt about when he had his GS painted...

It might be difficult to match, but that is so pronounced it looks poor, they could have done better, my bodyshop would have.

It's a bad paint job; you can see the colour difference extending up the drivers side wing.

I've mentioned it and the seller tells me it's his photography and the paint work is fine.
going to be disappointed if it's not when I view it, but not disappointed enough not to walk away if it's as bad as it looks in the photo.

Mac, if you have any chance of getting it under tubed lighting, do it, anything will usually show up in that light. If there is a colour difference and you still want the car, you need a reduction for getting the paint redone at a good bodyshop, could be as much as £500.

looks like an £800 front end blow in is needed to me.
Robert, you're right, if I can't see it in daylight and artificial lighting will help, one of the best places I've used is the orange lights of a filling station, not much use for seeing colour, but perfect for this!

Sorry for my ignorance, but who's Matt please?
wouldn't mind a chat if this does indeed need work.
Cheers.

Almost pointless forming an opinion on this based on pics. I actually suspect it's ok and it's just the light....colour match looks ok between front wing and bumper in front of the wheel. As others have inferred, it's a relatively pronounced line on these cars and may just be reflecting differently in the photo....as I say, difficult to know from a phtoto - need to see the car to be sure.

Fully agree, see the car and decide.
Mac, Matt is Conearo / Matterati, you can PM him.
