My old 3200. Grigio Alfieri with silver wheels

MAF, she looks lovely....I do like a 3200 on those wheels...I think they look better than silver ac wheels...They seems to suit the cars elegant looks...

Personally I think that a silver 3200, 4200 or Gransport definitely looks better with the contrasting mercury wheels. I'm not a great fan of black wheels on any of them. The Nuvolari, Alfieri & Palladino coloured cars look good with mercury too, as do red cars, blue is usually best with silver wheels.

Thanks, Dicky. Have you got any pics of mercury kicking around?

My Spyder is Grigio touring (silver) and I've had standard silver wheels, gloss black and now they are slightly darker than gunmetal.

Agree that the black wheels don't suit your colour, smasher. On a scale between 1 = standard silver, 10 = black I think yours are best at 3 or 4. Silver cars need something higher than 6 (including black). But we all have our own opinions

Chris, do you have a side view?
Your car, is, I think, the same colour as mine. I should probably check and correct the (not very) humerous line in my .sig

I agree with you Dicky - I'm old fashioned and don' t get the thing with darker wheels especially black.

Hi Malcom

Hope you are well.

I have to be honest and say I would prefer your car with silver wheels. It's in great condition as I saw at The Ace a couple of months ago, but for me somehow the detail/beauty of the wheels gets lost being black. Almost like the wheel/tyre blends into the inner darkness of the wheel arch.

Malcolm's wheels are a dark grey colour, not quite black.

Safrane's car wasn't lowered but it did have the GS front end so made it look a little lower.

Yes can now see that Dicky - looks very nice. Was it like this from factory or changed for cosmetic reasons? I haven't seen a Facelift with the GS front end before.

It was added (at great expense and hassle) as Safrane wanted the GS look. The skirt is around £600 painted, the grille £350, plus a day's work to fit the lot.

The irony in my case, was that I was originally looking for the GS rims, in grigio mercury. At the time there weren,t a lot available. When I decided to refurb mine instead, I went with the grigio mercury color of the GS rims. I'm quite happy with the results, but good old Murphy's law kicked in, and there are a few great deals out there now. In fact one guy in the US is selling a full set with minor rash on 2 of the 4. He's taking offers and simply stated....not less than $1000. I'd bet he wouldn't let them to for less than $1600, but still a great deal.

Looks gorgeous! Did you have the car lowered slightly?

No, shadow line and the GS front splitter, if I could have found some skirts and a rear spoiler it would have been perfect...it had the classiest interior In have ever had, Tan and black with contrasting black and tan stitching.

Smasher I think the silver wheels suit your car perfectly on the classico - why change it when it looks so good.

At the moment Simon, i am agreeing and thinking the same, just seen others that looked nice so thought this way i could see some others, and make my opinion, thinking i might get a flake (not the choclate one) put int the paint to make it a bit more shiny...

I'm with you on this Smasher - I had my wheels refurbed in bright sparkle silver and they look very nice indeed!
