There's a couple of sub 20k decent looking GS around, one red and one silver. I'd be looking at these, sending it for inspection and budgeting £2-3k to bring it mint. Then the missus can have a (small) diamond ring too.

There's no real need to spend upper 20s on a GS unless you're going to do low miles and keep her for a long time.

Some might disagree but for me, the things are to be used and buying too high can restrict the pleasure if you're only going to worry about it. I've had several cars that lived under covers in a heated garage and i've learned that, for me, a usable car is a much more exciting thing to own.

ill take everyone's 2p worth who has one of these cars or had. and the red GS on pistonheads is a lovely thing. one that id love to have

Yes but compressing them surely makes it stiffer as it has less rate of travel left?

The spring rate is linear until spring bound, so no.
