Morning Newton,
Wasn't me sadly...the essex FOC meet was last night, but I got caught up at work and didn't make it...
I guess there would have been a few fezzas around late afternoon early evening.

No worries Enzo, I was in a tired state and by the time I noticed it coming towards me I'd missed the number plate, just caught the scoop and then the familiar tailights shrinking in the mirror.... Pretty sure it was a 550 though.

Today I tackled a job that has been niggling me every time I get behind the wheel,
( and sometimes even when not driving ! )

Puckered leather on the airbag/steering wheel.

Probably one of the simplest jobs I have undertaken...

1) Lower drivers window
2) Isolate battery
3) Remove airbag by undoing the 2 screws from behind (security torx head)
4) Disconnect cable connector
5) carefully peel back leather
6) Remove all traces of old glue and clean
7) Apply new glue to both surfaces
8) Enjoy a nice cuppa whilst waiting for glue to touch dry
9) Press leather firmly back into place
10) Reassemble

Whole process took less than 1 1/2 hours and I was taking my time...

Many thanks for the workshop space, tools and tea Roberto :D

Some before, during and after pics...

Very nice Enzo, I love your OCD/attention to detail - just like me!

The photos show what a significant difference it makes. Nice simple job that can be done on 3200/4200/GS as well. Did mine a few years ago.

Nice job, it's the details that matter to me as well, I think we are all the same on cars like these.......some people just don't understand when you are cleaning the ends of your exhaust pipes

Thanks Guys,
You are so right, it is the little details that make all the difference...
I am so pleased with the result, it looks like a new steering wheel to me :D

Hey Andy, wheels are OEM, so looks no different (except a lot shinier),
but I am trying bridgestone RE050A tyres, up to this point I have only ever used Pirelli Pzero Rosos, so will be interesting to see how I get on,
so far am very happy, but only done about 50 miles...

Good work, Enzo, and very gratifying too, I should imagine.

Bet she looks the dog's nuts with the new wheels and fresh calipers. Are you going to BIAMF? Be good to see you and the car there.

Enzo, if i'm not mistaken it's somewhere in France, where the guys attend the LeMans and part of the road was previously a racetrack. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

But yes, this pic is a trademark of the Sportsmaserati forum.
