All's well that ends well

Got in the QPV today for the first time in a few days and started up fine. Then the EPB warning light came on (car had not moved and the EPB was not engaged.) the kilometer sign in bottom rhs of the display disappeared completely and the clock had gone back an hour, by itself.
So I engaged EPB, stopped the engine, waited and started the engine again and released EPB.
The km sign came back at 0 and the date had disappeared from the display replaced by a horizontal line. More worryingly the ABS alarm came on and went out again. I still had not moved at this point.
So I went for a short drive and all was well.
Put it back in the garage and turned it off. Checked the battery volts and they were fine but I put the trickle charger on just in case.
3 hours later went back disconnected the trickle and put ignition on (did not start the car)
I reset the date but could not reset the time as the first field (forget what it is called (time base?) was blue and inaccessible. I have found I need to un tick this field before I can set the time properly. Then as I looked at it wondering what to do it changed from Blue to Orange and I had access to the field. I un ticked it, then selected time (the next field) and set the clock. I then ticked the time base again. There is still an offset between the digital time which is correct and the analogue clock which is annoyingly a few minutes out.
Turned ignition off and waited.
A few minutes later I started the car no problem and all was well. I have left the EPB on and will take it out tomorrow for a drive about.

She was just grumpy, like most women get, slap her **** and give her a cuddle and all will be well :)

I took the car out the other week for the first time in a while. All started fine; went to the petrol station and when I started it again the 'check oil' warning came on. I knew there was plenty so I ignored it. Started it again later and no warning.

It's all part of the fun.

Haven't driven my GTS for a couple of weeks and then last week took her out. Moved off the drive and after a minute got the EPB fail warning and to go to a dealer even though EPB not on whilst parked. Turned off engine and restarted and no warning. Thankfully knew that when the battery gets a bit low this warning is one that appears. A good drive later and no warning message has appeared. Just one of those Italian quirks.

Yes, that's one of the first warnings I had due to a low battery and also the ABS & sometimes suspension. I got all of these on my last GTS before I changed the battery from the awful Yuasa to a Bosch S5013 which was perfect

to be honest not just a Maserati problem. My e39 had the ABS warning light on and off until I changed the battery too.

Went out today in the car and all was fine until I noticed the clock was 10 minutes slow (after having reset it yesterday)and the date was one day behind. I reset them again and will check tomorrow. Of course I could have made an error in the time and date but I do not think so. The Bosch battery is relatively new and there was enough charge to start the engine anyway.

Electrickery!
Went to the cold garage this morning and started the car - the EPB was already engaged from last night (it had 11.9 V on it)
I heard a noise like an electric short and the EPB fail warning Go to the Dealer symbol came on.
The clock was wrong and the date was wrong too.
Everything else worked fine eg frost symbol, all the buttons on the dash the heated seats etc.
Tried to release the EPB to no avail. and the car was held stationary by the EPB.
I pressed the Park Off on the dash and the EPB released but the warning and symbols remained.
The car moved easily so I went for a short drive (and reset time and date) and returned to the garage pressed the Park Off again and switched the engine off.
Looked in the boot where the electrics are positioned and all looked ok but I wiggled the connectors just in case.
12.1 V on the battery and I started the car with no problem and no warning lights!
Boxed it all back up and left it
Watch this space!
