Any alternative to the AC switch knobs only? 2 of mines have broken legs and pop out every time

I’m afraid to say that I don’t think there is an alternative part there are some threads on repairing them.

Just so we all know, the intent of this list is that post should be of alternative parts people have found for these cars. If you are looking for an alternative or are trying one, you are better off with a new thread.

Would you happen to know of a similar alternative for older models (2002)?
That would be awesome

Eurospare show the handbrake shoes as the same part number for 2003 4200's onwards including the Gransports.

No mention of anything prior to 2003 on the parts list.

I seem to recall that somebody had tried the apec shoes on an earlier 4200 and the one of the mounting holes was too big or too small. So fitted but needed fettling.

Maybe @conaero can confirm if there was a difference with very early 4200's

The Ferodo part definately fits the later 4200s and GS which i have just done. The apec part was fitted by @2b1ask1 i think previously to his 4200 ? Not sure what year newtons was though.

Thicker…in a word.

There are two types, 4200/GS/QP5 and GT are all the same except for this one thicker type that appears you have worked out the year

Thanks mate,
I bought new rear brake shoes a few years ago on ebay, they were supposed to fit my 4200 according to the seller.
But once I tried to install them I found out they were very different, I don't recall exactly what was the difference since it was a long time ago but they just couldn't fit. It had to do with some mounting points and possibly the contact point where the cylinder pushes on it were different, I'm not sure anymore. But it wasn't possible to fit, I had to return them. They did however look exactly like the ones used on other, more recent 4200 models so I'm certain the seller did send a Maserati 4200 brake shoe and not something else...
Would the problem just have been that they were thicker I would have grinded them a bit without hesitation, I recall it was something else (sorry for my failed memory).
I ended up repairing the old brake shoes however I could with JB weld, it worked fine but they need to be replaced sooner than later.

I think my model is right at the limit where they changed these brake shoes design.

That car is still going strong! Not in my ownership anymore, so it should be even better

Hi all. So MOT day, and its failed on inner edge if front tyre being down to canvas, and a totally split boot for the steering rack.
Had a look after some measurements, and it appears that if you can suffer an extra 20mm of length, (who wouldnt mind that), the boots for a Zafira B will fit. Will confirm when the garage re-doing the geo fits them, but in theory they should fit fine.

Has any got any idea of an alternative car the rear Brambo brakes of 3200, I am after a bridging pipe? I’ll give Eurospares a ring in the morning, but it’s not listed on the diagrams.
