Oh happy days!

This afternoon I finally agreed the deal on the blue Shamal at Emblem, and weather permitting I'll pick her up on Saturday. For those that don't know it, here's the link:

http://www.emblemsportscars.com/stock.aspx?v=39

Of course, she'll look even more stunning parked next to my matching blue Ghibli.

I thought about this purchase long and hard, but using my best man-maths, decided that having three Maserati in the garage was 50% better than having only two:)

Very jealous. I thought the first Shamal I saw was a great looking car and they continue to grow on me. I've seen this one in the flesh and as Emblem have sold it to you I'm sure you've got a good one.

I was just talking to Phil about this car tonight and how stunning it is ; we are all envious of you for it and for three of the finest Italian cars in a mans garage, what a treat!!

Such a wonderful motor car, and I suspect a wise investment as well. Congrat's Ewan.

Yes indeed, and the good news is that it's gone to someone who will appreciate it.

Congratulations Ewan.

Miles - I agree with you ref the investment potential. There are less than 10 RHD cars in the UK and this has to be one of lowest mileage cars in the best condition. The only way is up.

Of course, I could have bought a 3 year old Grantourismo S for similar money, and watched it drop steadily by £500 a month. But where's the (financial) fun in that?!

Thanks for all the positive comments, chaps. I intend to bring the Shamal to the club AGM at Prescott in the summer (as I took the Cup last year). Hopefully I'll meet some you there.

Totally agree Ewan. Part of the reason I bought my Exxy, and why I'll never sell the MCV.... For my next purchase I'm deliberating between a transporter for the Exxy (Classic Italian of course) or a Classic Trident. Seems this approach gives you the best of both worlds, a beautiful motor car whose worth has passed from the foibles of market value towards aesthetic value and something wonderfully engaging to drive at the same time.

Very nice - and not red !

How does it compare to the Cup to drive ?
Faster / lighter / easier ?

That would be great, Dave. Send me a private message with your contact details. The Shamal is still at Emblem in Poole and I'll probably collect her early next week (as long as it's sunny). What colour is yours and who do you use for servicing?

I'll be there this year, be good to put some faces to the many folk I've spoken to. The car looks stunning Ewan, many congratulations.
