NHS worker here. Tested late September for a cough that wouldn’t go away. As I work for central NHS England (boo hiss etc) we have no dedicated staff testing so had to to use test and trace. Pain to find a slot due to IT issues etc on website. Eventually got one after two days of trying. Process was quick and relatively pain free. Results back in 48 hours. Negative.
Better half is an Acute Medicine Doc at a local hospital and she unfortunately got the virus early Nov. Tested same day, positive result, we isolated. 24 hours later I had symptoms but was advised no need to test, as she had already been given a positive return. Cue 4 weeks of pain , breathing issues, knocked out on the sofa for a good week, body aches, couldn’t concentrate on anything, off my food due to no taste or smell. I’m only just starting to come out of the fog thankfully.
Back at work (from home) and it’s all systems go on vaccine roll out. Can’t even begin to comprehend all the logistics involved but this potential third wave is exactly what we don’t need. Keeping everything crossed we come out of winter in a decent shape hitting our 1m vaccinations a week target.

Thank you for sharing your experience and for the work you do. Glad to hear you are on the mend.

It’s sad to say that there really isn’t much hope for that thread. It seems to be a place where people go to express their anxiety with the whole situation. And well meaning or otherwise this comes out as negative. The trick, I think, is to not let it leak out elsewhere.

That'd be the Tena Man thread you're looking for, Zep.
