Costa Coffee moving to take away only as of tomorrow which is a bit depressing ......... and even more depressing my local has said if people stay away he might close it for good and develop the property.

Zizzi sent a similar email at the same time.

Posturing for getting lower rents and meanwhile justifying not paying any staff on zero hours contracts because you have to have front of house staff in if a customer ignores BoJo and goes out to eat, but not if the restaurant is shut. Will still be doing takeaway though.

Ocado suspended deliveries as cannot meet demand

I understand why the trade is shutting doors and most restaurants are now just doing takeaway and deliverybut I sat at work yesterday.....volume down by 80% and this is expected to drop further.....If they do close all puds, bars, restaurants then we will have no work. Currently looking to place 130 colleagues into other businesses across the area. Supermarket operations are crying out for people.....If not they we will be shutting the depot doors. Can't see us being able to pay wages either as we will not have revenue coming in. We were already in a three year recovery plan so this will put us back in crisis. Difficult and challenging times for all businesses in all sectors....

Not that the government seems to care , their strategy seems to be print money and let you borrow it

Certainly interesting times for us all.
Never known anything like it.
We're living on our own money now as not done any work since last December.
My plan was to work less but not be forced to stop.

exactly and putting businesses in to more debt by borrowing even more regardless of the so called "favourable" rates, it's still a bloomin loan , should suspend business rates at the very least

I might be as thick as a whale omelette but isn't capitalism always about printing money, diluting the real value before people realise, getting in quick, look at scrip issues in Ltd Co's - same thing!

Seems to be it's all about making value of something that isn't really worth it, like houses, Bitcoins etc....

There, I've said it, Emperor's New Clothes.....

What they need to do immediately is freeze credit card interest, a lot of people are going to get into serious debt over the next few months at 30% interest .

On a positive note fuel prices seem to be plummeting, 1.06 for diesel at costco today

yup agree with that, however it would be better to suspend all monthly payments for a while, the monthly interest on its own on say a standard card at 20% is minimal if you only have a couple of thousand on it anyway
