How do you sort this out? Is it just a case of manually closing the window and pushing the seat right back?

Manually close the window. If you need to reset you can try running it all the way down and holding for 10 seconds, then all the way up and holding for 10 seconds. That's the Alfa way, but it should be fine anyway.

Seat reset:
Open the door
go
forward
back
forward
back
tilt

All within about 10 seconds. The seat will go all the way forwards and all the way back twice, then return to the preset.

You need to be quite fast, but you literally only need to blip the switch so the seat moves.

It's in the manual. You might want to do it on both seats

Make sense?

Well done Mr C, that's the way, and sometimes those procedures actually work if you're lucky!

I saw it with my own eyes on Saturday. Mr Capes' car did the reset perfectly. Of course, his memory buttons were stuffed, so it wasn't *much* better but.. :)

The Europarts web site lists the wrong battery for the GTS, the whazzocks. They list the GS one instead so it is physically smaller. The one you need is listed for the QP 4.7.

The wonderful thing about this forum is that you can be as direct as you like, and it helpfully translates it to a forum-friendly language. For example, many people in your position would exclaim "oh, bother!". Others would say "****, you ******* ****-heads with a **** web-site.". So, no need to hold back.

Anyway - try this one: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/M...4af4219c0a23b4b496753ecf2ea6d44ce50aa4&000020

I'm assuming yours is a GTS / 4.7. correct?

Changed battery a week ago to to garage today to check the tyres and when you put it in reverse lights come up again
Epb off
Suspension symbol
ASR light
Go to dealer

Tried a few times and only happens when reverse is selected

Any ideas great fully accepted as a bit ××××xx off as we are now a couple of miles away from Brooklands in a Citroen of all things

Very odd. Must be electrical, but other than that, I'm out :(

I hope it isn't, but it might be that you have a sensor problem in your bearing? Got these sorts of bad tidings in the QP and had to replaced the bearing...:( - couldn't just replace the sensor as it's inside

My hunch would still be the battery as you are getting so many warnings at the same time, this is what they tend to do and when they are plugged into the diagnostic, they often return a low voltage fault code which suggests the battery needs to be replaced.
Good luck & keep us posted

There maybe something wrong with the battery that's the way we are thinking put the new one in just over a week ago didn't get chance to use until we were about to set off Friday and still some of the same codes only when you put it in reverse.
Took it for a 60 mile run yesterday made sure everything was off heater radio etc and when I pulled up at home and put it into reverse
Epb off etc and the engine fan came on.

Have juggled cars today and put the masser back on the ctek trickle charger but it only lit up to the 3rd light out of 7, went out with the dog for a couple of hours checked the charger and it has moved to the 4th light .
Does this seem right for a new battery?
We may put the charger on that's used on the alfa to see if that's makes any difference .

It's being picked up on Friday for service and a few bits so if we can't sort it I will have to leave it to Carrs to find the problem
